The Young Professionals Committee was formed in 1998 in order to serve the needs of newer OWWA members
and to put the OWWA in a position to meet the challenges of the 21st Century. The YP organization is comprised of an
enthusiastic membership representing a diverse cross section of young water industry professionals. The OWWA
Young Professional Committee is affiliated with the American Water Works Association (AWWA).
Young Professionals (YPs) are generally
considered to be members or prospective members of the OWWA less than 35 years of age or
with less than 10 year of experience in the drinking water industry. YPs include, but are not limited
to, those working for utilities, regulatory agencies, consulting firms, academic institutions or manufacturers.
